The charging port on the LeapPad Academy will have room to wiggle. This is as designed. If you are having difficulties charging the device, you need to make sure that you allow the LeapPad to sit securely to properly charge.
Please ensure that you charge the unit to a powered outlet on the wall for at least 4-6 hours using the included AC adapter. If it does not charge using the AC adapter, please plug the unit into a powered port of a computer using the included USB cable and let it charge. You will know if your device is fully charged through the battery indicator showing on the screen.

If the tablet is still not turning on, please remove the rubber bumper of the device and press the power button for a solid 20 seconds while the LeapPad Academy unit is connected to the AC adapter. Release the button and attempt to power on the tablet.
In rare cases such as a device lockup, a hard shut down may be necessary. To do this, press and hold the power button for 10 to 15 seconds until the unit shuts down, then reboots.
Visually check the charging/USB port on your device for damage. Additionally, visually check the USB charging cable for damage to the end of the cable that plugs into the device’s charging port.
Note: Accidental damage is not covered under the LeapFrog Manufacturer’s Warranty.
