Yes, the three platforms are fully compatible. Leapster2 game cartridges will work with Leapster (2003 version) and L-Max and vice versa.
Please Note: Only game cartridges labeled Leapster Explorer will work on the Leapster Explorer System. Games labeled as Leapster Explorer will not work on Leapster2, Leapster, or L-Max Systems.
