You should be able to correct the problem by deleting the LeapFrogConnect.pid file located at this location:
<From the hard drive> /Library/Application Support/LeapFrog/LeapFrog Connect/LeapFrogConnect.pid
You should be able to launch the LeapFrog Connect application normally after deleting this file.
