Error 4 in message in Mac install (DATABASE_CORRUPT_INSTALLATION)

Why am I getting this error message when attempting to install LeapFrog Connect on my Mac:

<Message>

<Name>DATABASE_CORRUPT_INSTALLATION</Name>

<Value>LeapFrog Connect is unable to create or write to the database. Please see customer support for assistance. Error 4.</Value>

</Message>

In most instances the Error 4 message indicates your Mac was set up with the customized configuration "case sensitive journaled".  This is a setting primarily used by programmers and is not intended for use on startup disks.

LeapFrog Connect is compatible with the default settings of Mac OS 10.6+. Please verify your volume is not configured as case sensitive journaled. As with many other applications, LeapFrog Connect will not operate on a machine configured this way.  To verify this:

Open Disk Utility in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder.

Select the boot volume from the list on the left.

Click the info button.

Verify the “File System” is not case-sensitive.

If you have verified your computer is not configured as case-sensitive, please follow these steps to resolve the issue:

Download, install and run this LeapFrog utility program: http://lfccontent.leapfrog.com/cs/utilities/LeapFrog_Connect_Utility.dmg

Select the option "Uninstall LeapFrog Connect", then "Complete..Like it was never there"

When the uninstall is complete, restart your computer.

Next, run the permissions repair function in Disk Utility, then sign in as an administrator and try the install again:

1.To open Disk Utility, from the Applications folder, open Utilities, and then double-click the Disk Utility icon.

2. In the column on the left, click your startup disk.

3. Click the First Aid tab, and then click Repair Disk Permissions. Disk Utility will reset any files and folders with incorrect settings.
