Q: How do I pick up letters and objects along the Railway?
A: There are two ways to collect letters and objects along the Railway, depending on which controller mode you are using:
Pointer Mode
Point the light directly at your LeapTV camera until you see your cursor on the screen. Move the cursor near any letter or object to automatically pick it up.
Classic Mode
Push the thumbstick in any direction to move the cursor around the screen. The cursor will automatically pick up letters or objects when they are near.
Q: Can two children play this game together at the same time?
A: Yes, You need to purchase a second controller to play in multiplayer mode. With a second controller, you can ride the Railway with two players at the same time and work together to collect letters and objects. Please note that this mode only supports Classic Control mode.
The child holding Controller 1 (Player 1) must select the Multiplayer icon from the Main Menu. Please ensure that Controller 2 is "awake" by pressing the A Button on it. The game will then prompt Player 2 to choose their profile. If you have not created a separate profile for this child on the LeapTV console, you can select "Guest".
Player 1 can now choose any of the 26 letter tracks to explore. Use the Thumb stick to move the cursor over a letter track and press the A Button to select. You can also wait 3 seconds and the game will auto select the track your are highlighting. Each letter track is unique and so be sure to explore them all for maximum thrills and learning!
Although Multiplayer is not supported in the other activities, we do encourage family & friends to help out in games like Letter Shapes, Letter Bubbles and Letter Grab.
Please note that you will need 2 LeapTV controllers to play this mode. Please also ensure that your 2nd controller is already synced to your LeapTV console before launching the Letter Factory Adventures game. You cannot sync a controller during gameplay and so this must be done at the LeapTV Home Menu prior to playing this game.
Q: What happens if I miss a letter or object on the Railway?
A: There are lots of letters and objects on each Letter Track, but you can always replay any previously completed Letter Track by selecting it again from the Railway Map.
Q: My child is having trouble with Letter Grab, do you have any hints for us?
A: Here are some helpful hints to get an optimal score in Letter Grab:
1) First, make sure that your LeapTV camera is in a well lit room, is aimed directly at your child's chest and that your child is standing 3-7 feet away from the camera.
2) Encourage your child to keep their hands at their side or close to their body when they are deciding which letter to grab. Once they are ready, they should reach out quickly and grab those letters! The game responds better to controlled movement versus constant motion.
3) If your camera image appears dark and you have already lit your room well, we suggest updating to the latest firmware version for your LeapTV. It contains significant improvements for low light situations and camera based games.
Q: Can I use the thumb stick in Letter Draw?
A: No, your LeapTV controller will need to be in Pointer Mode to play the Letter Draw activity. Just point the light at your LeapTV camera and move it from dot to dot to trace letters.
Q: My child really enjoys specific Railway Activities. How can I select Letter Draw, Letter Grab, Letter Bubbles or Letter Shapes?
A: You can choose to play any activity separately once you have completed a Railway track. Select any previously completed Letter Track from the Railway Map and then choose the activity that you would like to play.
Q: My child really enjoys riding the Railway and collecting letters. How can I select the Railway?
A: You can choose to ride any Railway track once you have completed it. Choose the completed Letter Track from the Railway Map and then choose the Railway icon.
Q: How can I exit out of an activity or Railway Track?
A: Press the Home button at any time and select 'Exit'. Your progress will be saved all the way up to the last completed activity. If you resume play on your most recent Letter Track, you can choose to start from the last checkpoint (the last completed activity) or you can choose to start over from the beginning.
